Not being a big fan of spiders, there's been one (previously unidentified - just seen the web) I've let live right next to the front door for some time. It's never bothered me so I've let it be.
Until last night/early this morning when I was throwing a cricket out the front door. (I've had a lot of things in this place but never a cricket.) After tossing the little thing in the garden out the front I happened to look at the web (as soon as you clear the web away a new one takes its place within hours). It's the first time I've ever seen the occupant of the web and I wasn't happy...
Dwelling in said web was a rather large redback spider. (For those who don't know, they're one of Oz's poisonous spiders. They won't usually kill an adult but they make you very sick.) So yeah, I know they're as scared of me as I am of them and all that but sorry, it had to go.
Fuck that for a joke.
