l 2005-06-17 - 11:22 p.m. Hopefully this'll be the last time I ever mention spelling, whether it be having a go at the American way or any other way. It's boring and makes me sound a bigger cockhead than I really am. I was reading a bit this afternoon, a travel book by Paul Theroux (I've been delaying reading his books as I only have three left to read), when I came across a sentence that read "...arid gravely...". Took me a couple of reads to realise it was gravelly, as in a lot of gravel. It's the reason why I don't believe you should drop the second l in words. Sure you get away with it in traveling etc, but if that's the case then you may as well drop it in every word. Therefore bull is now bul, and bullshit bulshit, Bill is Bil, balling is baling and all is al, calling is caling, pull is pul etc etc. No, there's absolutely no point to this entry. I just felt I should write something at least.
