Books

2005-12-04 - 10:42 a.m.

After having read 37 books by July the 1st this year, I was on track to go well over last year's total. But since then I've read all of 20 books and it's now less than four weeks from the end of the of the year.

I've not read that much other stuff like mags and newspapers, so that's not the main reason. There has been a lot happening in my life in that time and so I've not really had as much time to read.

The biggest worry, though, is that I don't seem to get as much enjoyment from it. I think it's partly because of some of the books I've been reading, but even when I pick one up that I'm interested in, I don't have that urge, like I used to, to read it quickly. That feeling is partly because I now have to be very careful with money and as you know, books ain't cheap so I can't go and buy any book I want. I sort of made a promise to myself to read the books that I already have - problem is some of them I'm not all that interested in as I bought them a while ago.

Oh, the travails of life. I really should be thankful for what I have and stop being such drama queen.

I'll do that in the future. Yes.
