Well let me tell you a story 'bout a man named Jed

2006-07-16 - 2:16 p.m.

Just been going through the jobs vacant section in the big newspaper from yesterday. I found it interesting, and ironic, that there was two (that I saw) ads for a place that helps with depression.

And mid-week, financial analysts were warning us to prepare for two interest rate rises in the next 12-18 months. How can you predict so far ahead? I used to think it was impossible till the predictions of high fuel prices came true.

Mind you, I still can't see how you can predict such high rises, almost to the cent, months and months ago. Apart from the war in Iraq (which apparently hasn't really been to blame) there's not been huge problems to cause the current price rises. There was Katrin@ in the Gulf, which doesn't affect us here and apparently didn't have as much impact on world prices as people thought, and recently it was the N0rth K0reans launching missiles. I don't understand how that has much to do with fuel prices here or anywhere. Yes, the current problems in Leban0n may have a bearing on things, so the experts say, but it seems everything that happens now pushes the oil prices up.

A sparrow farts in the Mid-West? Fuck, look at those oil prices rise!

I just find it difficult to believe there's not collusion anywhere.

And I agree with the experts, when China does start using as much oil as the West, or even well before that, the prices will be stratospheric. And catastrophic.
