I find it strange, weird, surreal maybe, that I can go 40 years without making too many mistakes, bad decisions, even fuck-ups.

Then I get to 41 and make one very big mistake, bad decision, fuck-up, one that seems likely to cost me tens of thousands of dollars. More importantly than any loss of money though, it's making/made things difficult for my future happiness in another way.

But things will work out. I'm positive about that and it's only fair. I'll lose the money but I'm not prepared to lose anything else.
